UK company gives employees menstrual period leave

A company in Bristol, UK has decided to give its employees leave when they are having their menstrual period. The company called Coexist plans  to give female employees the right to take this time off that would not be regarded as sick leave.

Employees who choose to take this 'period pain' would be expected to make it up the company says.

I think this is a good idea for people who suffer from dysmenorrhoea. However this is a slippery slope. One more reason for women to earn less than their male colleagues.
