Kachikwu asserts fuel scarcity will end come April 7th

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, on Tuesday, promises that the fuel scarcity that has plagued the country for weeks now will end on Monday, April 7, 2016. This comes after the backlash he received when he predicted the queues for fuel will end in May.

Kachikwu who is also the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) made this new assertion at an appearance before the Senate committee on Petroleum (Downstream) over the country's fuel scarcity.

“By 6th or 7th April, the long queues in filing stations would disappear,”  the minister said and also apologized to Nigerians over his statement that the scarcity will continue till May.
