In 2016 Nigerian senate is voting against Women Equality bill...TF?


Nigerian lawmakers on Tuesday, voted against a gender and equal opportunities bill. That was proposed by Senator Biodun Olujimi. The bill was intended to help bridge the gap between the rights of men and women in Nigeria and ending discrimination based on gender.

The bill initially garnered support from some lawmakers but eventually was voted against majority on the senate floor. People who voted against the bill cited religious laws and beliefs.
