EgyptAir flight hijacker arrested

Earlier Tueday morning a Cairo-bound EgyptAir flight was hijacked by a lone man and had to be diverted to Cyprus. Thankfully reports have come in that the hoistage situation ended peacefully as all passengers and crew have left the aircraft and hijacker has been arrested

"The hijacker has just been arrested," Cyprus government spokesman Nikos Christodoulides  tweeted and added that "All passengers and crew are safe."

The hijacker is an Egyptian man identified as Seif El Din Mustafa, who allegedly hijacked the EgyptAir flight because of his ex-wife, forcing the plane to land in Cyprus, officials said Tuesday. The hijacking was not related to terrorism, a spokesman for the Cyprus Transport Ministry said.
